It has been stated in the press releases that TUI plans to merge its airline, TUIfly, with Germanwings, the German low-cost airline that operates on the Romanian low-cost market too.
The talks regarding the structure of a possible alliance could continue into 2008. The deal could be backed up by a broader union formed by Knauf Beteiligungsgesellschaft and Eurowings, the Germanwings’ parent and Lufthansa.
